Into The Mind – Official Teaser

Blur the lines between dream state and reality, as you perceive the world through the minds of many. Into the Mind contemplates the experiences passed between mentors and peers to paint a philosophical portrait of human kind. What drives us to overcome challenge? How do we justify risk? (more…)

Roberta Mancino: The Beaut Behind the Suit

Angels really do have wings. We’ve talked about Roberta Mancino a lot. If only there was a compilation of Mancino videos out there where you could learn all there is to know about the world’s sexiest athlete. Oh wait, ESPN’s E:60 has done just that. In a video seemingly made up of stolen Blades clips, the sports video archive has profiled the incredible wingsuit star. At first an international model, Mancino was looking for more in life and decided to push her physical limits and release all of her adrenaline by becoming an extreme athlete (extremely sexy, that is). (more…)

Blades Magazine_Letter from the Editor

Respect. This is a word that I strongly believe belongs to All Pilots. The entire purpose of this magazine’s existence is to bring R-E-S-P-E-C-T back to the aviation industry and let me remind you all that we will continue to bring sexy back every month (Wait until you see December’s Blades Girls). So where did all the respect go? If you are a pilot reading this you know what I am talking about. All pilots share one thing in common and that is passion, passion for flying. This magazine will use that passion and make it into a contagious disease. Infecting all those who read Blades Magazine, our writers will become the voices for the aviation industry, our reader will become the advocates for the next generation of pilots. (more…)

LegoLand Opening in Florida

When you were hit in the head with a falling bin of Legos as a kid, it’s hard to appreciate the toy at any point in life. So this Legoland Florida ($65 adults, $55 children) that’s opening up in Florida this Saturday is the equivalent of taking me to Elm Street or the Farnsworth House or Hell. (more…)

Southwest Airlines: The Making of Florida One [VIDEO]

I don’t see what’s so special about this video. I could easily show you how to build an airplane from scratch using nothing more than my time-lapse camera. But I lack the ability to upload videos onto Youtube so this will have to suffice. In this Frankenstein-style creation video, Southwest Airlines has taken a break from losing my bags to show you inside and out how Florida’s Specialty Boeing is made. First of all, everyone seems so rushed! (more…)

SixthSense Prototype

Every generation has its own Da Vinci. A revolutionary mind that provokes the inventor in all of us, affecting everyone with their ideas and creations. Hands down this generation’s prodigy goes to whoever thought up cookies & cream ice cream, it’s just too good. Coming in at a close second, though, is Pranav Mistry, mastermind behind SixthSense. If you can forget about seeing dead people for a minute and imagine walking around with the digital world literally at your fingertips, you’ve got the idea. With so many interactive gaming technologies like the Kinect springing up all of a sudden it’s hard to pay attention to one project that’s been 11 years in the making. The SixthSense Prototype is a system comprised of a very mobile wearable device that hangs like a pendant and stores a pocket projector, mirror and camera. (more…)

Terrafugia’s “The Transition”

Flying can sometimes be a hassle. Someone drives you to the airport, your iPhone’s audio gets ruined whilst going through the conveyor belt and then you wait till boarding time. And after you find out your flights been delayed, you board the plane six hours later only to be seated between a talkative grandmother and a husky man with a snoring problem. Of course then you lay down 80 bucks for the taxi to your destination. The MIT-trained engineers over at Terrafugia were sick of this laborious, unconstitutional abuse and they developed The Transition ($279,000.00), the Transformer of tomorrow. (more…)
