Blades Girl+ Features+

August Blades Girl Tasha Ford

Q: How did you enjoy the Blades shoot with the Bell 407 helicopter?
A: Oh, you don’t understand how excited I was when I got the call from Benhur with GoCoverGirls. I mean, that’s a kick ass prop! I get to shoot with that?! Never in a million years did I think it was going to come out so hot. Everyone’s been complimenting me and wanting to feature the pictures. I heard it was blowing up Twitter! Tasha Ford and the helicopter—that was fierce!

Q: Have you modeled with any other impressive machinery?
A: I did a photo shoot with a tricked out Impala for Donks Box & Bubbles Magazine. It was a pretty amazing piece, but it doesn’t compare to the helicopter.

Q: If you could bring five people with you in the Bell 407 who would they be?
A: My children. I have two kids Trinity & Wayne. It’s something I would love to cherish with someone special in my life, romantically. I’d also like to bring my siblings, and my mother. And you can’t forget Mr. Dom Perignon!

Q: What would be your ultimate city to view from a helicopter?
A: I would have to say New York City. I mean, the landscape, just to see the Statue of Liberty, all the skyscrapers on a little island. That would be mind-blowing.

Q: Where have you been jet-setting lately?
A: I’ve been working in L.A., and also New York and Chicago.

Q: What’s your dream destination?
A: I need to go to the Fiji Islands out on the water away from everybody, and feel like I’m in paradise with a masseuse on the deck.

Q: What’s something you can’t travel without?
A: My cell phone! I have to have that everywhere I go, and my laptop.

Q: Do you have any travel tips?
A: I’m the worst. I’m a girl. I pack everything. The one thing I’ve learned to do is put all of my liquids in the bag being checked. I carry on my shoes. You’d think I’d do the opposite because that tends to be the heaviest bag, but my shoes are the most expensive things in my closet.

Q: In the new Red Café music video “We Get It On” featuring Omarion you spend a lot of time on a yacht in Miami’s Biscayne Bay, what’s your favorite thing to do in Miami?
A: I love to hang out at my friend’s restaurant the Forge on Friday nights. It’s a really great crowd. I like going to the movies. I’m a simple girl. Working out on the beach with my girlfriends is fun. If there’s one place in the world that you want to be when life’s stressing you out, it’s Miami. The weather, the nightlife, it’s an ideal vacation spot.

Q: What’s playing on your iTunes right now?
A: I listen to a lot of old 3 Doors Down and I love Gwen Stefani. I just listened to her song “It’s My Life.”

 Q: What’s your Model-Off-Duty Look?
A: I’m really conservative. I wear a lot of Anthropologie and BCBG.

Q: What designer would you love to model for?
A: Jean Paul Gaultier. I love his work. He’s like Picasso on clothes. I love how extreme he goes with it. I’m kind of like that! Really extreme. Nothing can hold me back. I do things the way I want to do them.

Q: Tell me a little more about your work.
A: I’m all over the board with it. I don’t just do music videos. I started doing the videos because the urban industry wouldn’t recognize me until I did it. I do a lot of fashion, lifestyle, hair. I’m mainly known for my hair campaigns. I have a lot of billboards and ads in magazines. But people would rather recognize you for shaking your booty!
