William Shatner killed by Priceline

Priceline is known for slashing prices. Now they’ll be known for slashing Shatner. As T.J. Hooker and Captain Kirk, the William Shatner franchise has seen its share of death, but I’m sure the Priceline Negotiator never thought this would happen to him 3 times. Security is the key to maintaining any business, and a website where you bid on travel prices just could not sustain itself.

As the company makes its transition from the “name-your-price” model it is known for to the more secure fixed-price game, it wants to wipe its slate of anything associated with its previous business. Case in point: William Shatner. As (former) negotiator of prices, he emulated the “name-your-price” lifestyle with every action he took. Basically, he was so good at his job that he had to go. What better way to do this than in a classy, educated manner? Well, the public, extravagant route might work too. To tackle a task as…unique as killing off the Priceline Negotiator, one needs to do it with a bang. Literally.

As a bus teeters off a bridge the valorous Shatner comes to the rescue, guiding passengers off and sneaking in a quick mention of Priceline’s fixed-price capabilities. He just barely gets the last person off the bus when he utters his last words “Save yourselves…some money”, and then…BOOM. The martyr dies for his price-saving cause. Who knows if we will ever see the Negotiator again, but if we do it better be for good because I don’t think even Shatner could live through 4 deaths in one lifetime.
