Summer with Roberta Mancino

It’s been a while since we’ve mentioned Misses Daredevil, girlfriend and potential death buddy to Jeb Corliss. Every time I watch one of her videos I feel slightly sorry for Jeb, seeing as how he may be single very soon. As Mancino and a rotor plane fly side by side I can’t help but think two things: how is she so fearless and why do we need air travel if we could just wingsuit everywhere?

To glide at speeds topping 90 mph and seem indifferent throughout is a strange habit only Roberta can nail. She shows absolutely no emotion despite the fact that she is DIVING INTO THE GROUND and had more fun in the beginning of summer than I did the entire season. Let’s compare the beginning of our summers. Roberta: dives off a cliff, glides mere feet from a mountain and finally parachutes and lands on the ground. Me: lost my luggage, broke my iPhone, and got my computer stolen…all within the same 24 hour period. Diving off a cliff sounds pretty fun. But back to the topic, Roberta Mancino is still ranked as the sexiest woman in sports and is the face (and body) of Team Turbulenza, a gang of stunt performers and wingsuiters who are just as eager to fly and just as eager to push wingsuit technology to another level.
